Description
erdacht + gemacht
entworfen + verworfen
(= German: Rehau. Space for visions. conceived + made, designed + rejected)
Urban planning and architectural designs have had a lasting impact on the overall image of the small Franconian town of Rehau. Rehau native Karl H.C. Ludwig, professor of landscape architecture, librarian Oliver Groll, architect Martin Kugler, and urban planner Simone Herrmann use a variety of different projects to show how the town has changed throughout its history. The volume presents over 40 projects that were conceived and made or once designed and then discarded, covering a wide variety of building types, and thus shows how much even the development of smaller cities depends on built reality and on discarded visions.
